Once upon a time there was a young woman who moved from LA to Paris to be a big time television producer. In addition to being an “American in Paris” she made lots of television shows like The Highlander and ones that featured strong, smart women like La Femme Nikita. In between hopping around the planet hob knobbing with the rich and famous, she fell in love and some how managed to balance her pretty fancy job, the man of her dreams and a couple of kids. One of the things she couldn’t help but notice was how glamorous French women of all ages were. They seemed to always look so elegant, even while racing between the office, ballet lessons and then out for dinner “en ville”.

Each woman seemed to light up the room with her own style and flair, wrapped in a signature scarf that defined her unique personality. It dawned on Marla that none of those French women ever seemed to have any “icky bits” and then she realized the “French Secret”: The drape of a scarf, an elegant cape, the perfect jacket or sweater — these women were always sexy and feminine as they strut their stuff down the Avenue Montaigne. Stored in their small closets and armoires were simple yet elegant basics. French women were masters at covering a multitude of sins and by adding that one special drama piece that became their signature look. And so, Marla began collecting her own special pieces, developing an easy elegance, joining the ranks of the casually elegant French woman — An American in disguise!

Marla Wynne GinsburgEventually, life brought the American home, older and wiser with a few “icky bits” of her own. She realized that finding those perfect pieces that let her travel the world in comfort and style, taking her from Hollywood board rooms (where she had become increasingly bored) to soccer practice and then out to 6 pm Malibu charity events was next to impossible.

She realized that fashion seemed to be missing two things: Real women sizes and trendy options for women over 40. Everything seemed to be made for her teenage daughter and it all looked alike! She realized that there wasn’t a single brand that met her needs: Casual, comfortable, elegant and age appropriate lifestyle clothing in flexible mix and match designs in delicious fabrics that would go everywhere her busy life was taking her.

And so she set out on a new direction and decided to design a line for everyBODY, and MarlaWynne was born!
